Emmersdorf to Krems: arrange transport before the start
WACHAUmarathon by Brooks confirms September 26, 2027. Its available detailed course information still describes the 2026 point-to-point marathon from Emmersdorf to Krems, including an opening loop toward Weitenegg before following the Danube through Spitz.
The homepage announces September 26, 2027, while the detailed marathon page still carries September 13, 2026. Use the new announcement for the race date and the older page only for route context. In particular, do not copy the old 10:00 start, bus departure or road-closure time into a confirmed 2027 travel schedule.
The previous course began on the B3 by the leisure centre in Emmersdorf, headed toward Weitenegg for an opening loop, then followed the Danube through Spitz to Krems. A point-to-point course makes transport to the start a separate task from getting home after the finish. Check which town your accommodation serves most conveniently.
The 2026 arrangements required athletes to select transport options during registration, with buses and trains serving the start and restrictions on private-car access. The next guide must confirm whether those options and booking requirements return. Reserve the actual service you need rather than assuming a shuttle seat is automatic because one existed before.
The older instructions also describe numbered organizer bags transported to the finish and a personal-refreshment service for full-marathon runners. Confirm both procedures for 2027 before relying on them. A mostly flat river route still calls for sustainable pacing, familiar fueling and attention to the current wind and temperature.
Confirmed race date
Wachau Marathon: September 26, 2027. Verified on October 14, 2026 against the organizer’s distance-specific information.
2027 date status
Wachau Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, September 26, 2027. The date comes from the organizer's current event page, checked 2026-09-16. Registration, course, race-day operations and cancellation terms can still change independently.
Current race identity
These details identify the race. Older operational information must be checked against the next participant guide. The verified organizer date supports race date, while every operational field remains subject to the current participant guide.
Training calendar anchors
Calendar arithmetic does not prove that a runway is appropriate. Choose the opening week only after it matches recent consistency, current health and recovery.
Use the training start-date calculator, compare the marathon training path, and use the printable plan overview only as a planning map. Do not compress missed weeks to force a date.
What the organizer still needs to confirm
Recheck the represented distance, registration, venue, start waves, course, cutoff, aid, equipment, cancellation terms and participant guide. Use the race-week forecast rather than historical averages.
Prepare for the confirmed edition
The useful work now is training you can repeat. Start training with 26weeks after choosing a real finish line and a runway that fits current readiness.
