The 40 km Maratón from Quéntar to Pradollano
The overall festival runs April 2–4, but each category has its own start day and location. The Ultra leaves Granada on Friday night, while the Maratón starts in Quéntar on Saturday morning. Select the correct category for transport, collection and your race-day schedule instead of using the festival’s opening date.
The marathon follows the shared mountain route to the first arrival in Pradollano. The longer Ultra’s additional high section and total climbing figures should not be copied into a 40 km pacing plan. Download the Maratón map, elevation profile and checkpoint table when the final guide is published, then assess the actual terrain and supported time against your experience.
The organizer requires mandatory kit across all distances. Read the complete category list and prepare for the final weather briefing rather than relying on the conditions in Granada. Practise moving over similar terrain with the required equipment and allow time for any checks before starting.
The FAQ describes collection in Granada and a separate start in Quéntar. Confirm the current collection window and any booked transport, since those locations require different journeys. Give supporters the finish at Pradollano and check how you will return after the race. Follow checkpoint instructions if the route changes or progress exceeds a limit; the ten-hour maximum does not override an earlier intermediate cutoff or an organizer decision made for conditions.
