Teanaway’s two loops and intermediate gates
The first loop had an 11:45 cutoff in the displayed edition, followed by additional station gates at 12:25 and 14:10. A possible finish before 15:30 is therefore not the only consideration. Check every current gate before entering, and include time spent at aid stations in your estimate.
The route passes through scattered forest, meadows and sandstone terrain. Practise on comparable uneven surfaces and climbs, then pace the first circuit with enough control to repeat it. Runners in shorter categories take marked shortcuts, so follow marathon instructions at every split rather than simply following the group ahead.
The start, finish and registration area is on West Fork Teanaway Road just beyond its split with the Middle Fork road. The organizer warns that phone reception may be unavailable on approach. Save the directions offline and arrange the required Discover Pass before travelling; do not rely on buying one at the parking lot.
The latest aid chart lists five marathon stops, with the final one around mile 20.9. For a future edition, calculate time between the confirmed stations and carry supplies that suit those gaps. The nearby campground has pit toilets but no running water or power in the organizer’s description, so camping needs its own practical plan. Trails stay open to other users, including horses; give way and follow the rider’s directions if you encounter one. Dogs cannot accompany entrants. A navigation race is offered separately during the wider weekend and should not be confused with the marked marathon. Until a new dated programme appears, keep the old start, cutoff and camping information clearly attached to 2026.
