A single coastal lap with intermediate deadlines
The official full-marathon page separates the marathon from the half marathon’s later start. Work backward from the recommended 05:00 arrival to plan food, transport and start-area access. A nearby accommodation choice still needs a route that works under the event’s road closures.
The overall limit is measured from the 06:00 gun, not simply your personal moving time. Check every intermediate deadline against a realistic pace plus aid stops. The organizer also describes moving runners over 5 hours 30 minutes onto a cycle path on the motorway return; read the final instructions for how that change is managed.
The single-lap route reduces repeated turnarounds and visits Twin Waters and Mudjimba, with two motorway-bridge crossings. Practise steady effort across gentle rises and exposed coastal sections rather than assuming a perfectly uniform flat split. Avoid trying to win back uphill seconds immediately on a descent.
The start and finish remain at Alexandra Headland according to the organizer. Agree on a finish meeting point outside the active route, and check the bag and collection arrangements before race week. Reconfirm the final map and aid plan independently of the published August date; a confirmed race day does not freeze all operating details.
