Rolling valley roads and a firm 5½-hour limit
The published limit includes the whole race, not only moving time. Compare it with a realistic finish estimate including aid and any slower uphill sections. The organizer says services and traffic control end at closure and directs runners who cannot meet the full-marathon limit to consider the half. Do not plan to continue unsupported as though the cutoff were advisory.
The full start has no parking. Follow the official bus arrangements and confirm boarding time, location and bag procedure in the current participant information. Prepare the drop bag requested by the organizer and separate it from equipment you will carry. Accommodation near the downtown finish still requires a plan for reaching the bus before departure.
A friend may collect a packet with the runner’s email confirmation, but there is no race-day pickup. Arrange collection before Sunday and keep the confirmation accessible. Do not depend on an exception for a late flight or an early race-morning arrival; use the final published collection hours when deciding travel.
The course uses roads with local traffic, and the organizer restricts roadside spectators because there are no suitable sidewalks or pullouts along RCR 129. Ask supporters to use permitted finish-area access or official volunteering options. Train for controlled effort over rollers rather than treating the net descent as an invitation to bank time early; altitude and late-race hills can change the effort needed to hold a familiar pace.

Current race profile
The organizer remains authoritative if the course, distance program, venue, registration or schedule changes. Historical conditions are not a forecast; use current organizer advisories and the race-week forecast.
Training calendar anchors
These dates are calendar arithmetic, not proof that a plan length is appropriate.
