Skedaddle’s Two Tunner climbs and remote-station access
The course follows the Dove River before joining the station’s walking tracks, with Valley Camp and Bush Huts among its landmarks. Prepare for sustained climbing and descending with your race pack, not just the distance shown on a road-marathon plan. Use the 42 km route and cutoff information, because the shorter events share the venue while following different courses.
The organizer requires the 42 km runners to carry mandatory gear throughout the race and pass an inspection at registration. Read the complete current list, check each item works, and practise packing it so weather protection and food are reachable. Remote parts of the route may take time for the safety team to access; do not leave required equipment behind because conditions look mild at the start.
Arrival needs more planning than the driving time alone suggests. The last ten kilometres use a gravel road, and the approach includes a narrow suspension bridge with vehicle restrictions. Check your vehicle against the organizer’s published dimensions and weight limit before departure. Follow the marshalled access arrangement rather than assuming an alternative river crossing is suitable, especially after rain.
There is a further walk from parking to the woolshed race village. Allow time for that walk, registration and the kit check before your own start; carry a light if arriving before sunrise. The event is cupless, so bring a vessel and enough familiar food between aid points. Save the 42 km station list and final map, and use the organizer’s drinking-water provision rather than assuming untreated creek water is suitable.
