Additional event notes
Two Meuse loops and a shared second lap
Maasmarathon confirms May 2, 2027 at 09:00 from Place Reine Astrid in Visé. The organizer describes a flat, cross-border course of two loops and a five-hour-thirty-minute limit.
The two-loop format changes how the middle of the race feels. Fresh half-marathon runners can arrive while you are already well into the full distance. Keep your own effort and distance in mind, leave room for passing and avoid following a faster group simply because it joins nearby. Confirm the final lap continuation and finish approach on the current map.
The route follows the Meuse corridor through Belgian and Dutch surroundings. A flat profile still leaves turns, exposed sections and changing wind direction to manage. Practise sustained running at a controlled effort, then adapt the race plan to the forecast and conditions instead of treating the course description as a guaranteed personal best.
The support layout separates personal supplies, water, food, sports drink and medical assistance. If using the organizer’s personal-refreshment service, confirm labelling and hand-in instructions at the Cultural Center before the stated 08:00 deadline. Rehearse the chosen products and decide which station table you need before entering a busy aid area.
The organizer lists several collection locations but has not yet supplied their dates. Plan to revisit those details before booking a tight arrival itinerary. A special accompanying-bike option is restricted to the second loop and certain finishing-time categories; it is not general permission for a friend to cycle alongside from the start. Read the current conditions and arrange spectator support that stays within them. Keep the current registration confirmation and full-distance map together for race-week checks.
Confirmed race date

Last-known race profile
These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Use the confirmed date above and recheck the final participant instructions before committing to a race-day schedule.
Build toward the confirmed race date
- establish repeatable weekly frequency before event-specific intensity;
- extend easy endurance only when the following week remains recoverable;
- practise fueling, equipment or stations in ordinary training rather than guessing race-day rules;
- keep strength and recovery compatible with the primary sessions; and
- anchor a specific block to the confirmed date only when its opening workload matches your recent training.
With the race date confirmed, use the training start-date calculator and compare the marathon training hub. Calendar arithmetic does not establish training readiness.
What the organizer still needs to confirm
Recheck the exact date, represented distances, registration, venue, start waves, course, cutoff, aid, cancellation terms and participant guide. Use the current race-week forecast for final clothing and pacing decisions.
Prepare for the confirmed edition
The useful work now is the training you can repeat. Start training with 26weeks after choosing a real finish line and a runway that fits current readiness.
