Confirmed 2027 date
Pocatello Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, September 4, 2027. The organizer's current announcement, checked September 23, 2026, identifies the next edition. The September 5, 2026 race is a past edition.
The date is current; a previous participant guide is not automatically current. Check the organizer's registration page for the live entry options and terms. This guide does not carry forward older prices, start times, shuttle instructions or qualifying claims.
Turn the date into a realistic training runway
These are calendar calculations, not a recommendation to start at a particular training load. The opening week needs to fit what you can repeat now, including available days and recovery. Use the training start-date calculator to compare your own runway, then review the marathon training hub.
If your recent training does not support a plan's first week, allow time to build consistency or choose a later goal. Do not compress missed weeks to fit the calendar. A marathon plan PDF can help you see the structure; it cannot adjust for missed sessions or changing recovery.
Before you enter or book travel
Match each question to the right edition
A race website can contain the new date alongside last year's detailed instructions. Before using any instruction, check the year in its heading, the publication date and whether the registration page links to it. A detailed older document can still be useful for questions to ask, but it should not decide your arrival time or transport booking for 2027.
Keep a short planning record with three columns: the decision, the official page supporting it, and the date you checked. Put the confirmed race date in the record now. Leave packet collection, transport reservations, start arrangements and any course-specific pacing assumptions open until the new edition materials address them. This makes later updates easier to spot without repeatedly rebuilding your entire plan.
For a group trip, confirm that everyone is entering the intended distance before coordinating accommodation. The registration page offers several events; sharing the race weekend does not mean sharing the same start procedure or finish arrangements. Check those details separately for each participant. Revisit the record before any non-refundable purchase and again when the organizer publishes race-week instructions.
A useful next training decision
Choose a schedule that fits your recent weeks before choosing a finish time. Keep the pace calculator as a way to compare scenarios, and use the fueling planner to organize an approach you can practise. Neither a calculated pace nor a printed schedule proves readiness.

Sources and freshness
The organizer announcement supports the date above. Operational details must be checked against the current participant guide close to race day. This page was reviewed on September 23, 2026; it does not guarantee entry availability, a finish, or a qualifying result.
