Nairobi City’s Expressway course and fixed road-reopening time
The Expressway is a defining part of this Nairobi City event, but the full marathon, half marathon, 10 km and family run have separate route maps and start times. Use the 42 km map when assessing distance and access. Do not treat another Nairobi marathon or a shorter Expressway event as the same race.
The currently posted 06:45 start and 13:00 road reopening describe the existing programme. That is a fixed clock deadline, not a flexible promise based on when an individual crosses the start. Before entering a future edition, check the new supported window and any intermediate closures, then compare them with your expected progress.
The start and finish are different city landmarks. Plan how you will reach City Hall and where companions will meet you after the finish at Uhuru Park. Review road closures and permitted pedestrian access; a convenient route on an ordinary day may be unavailable during the race. Save the final arrival instructions before leaving your accommodation.
The full-course page specifically lists water stations, so do not assume each one supplies the food or sports drink you normally use. Confirm the current products and any carrying rules when the new guide is released. The homepage has separate entry routes for local/East African and international participants; select the appropriate category and verify its status. Until a new named edition is announced, the old timetable is useful course context rather than a basis for booking a 2027 trip or fixing a final taper. Keep the date, route and entry confirmation together when they become available.

These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Wait for the organizer’s announcement before committing to a race-day schedule.
