Mt. Sneffels currently advertises a half marathon and 10K
The older combined marathon-and-half name can lead to the wrong distance assumption. Check the competition you are actually entering: the currently advertised half marathon is 21.1 km, and the event’s confirmed August date is not evidence that a full marathon has returned. A historical full-marathon result does not establish a new category.
If the half marathon is your intended goal, wait for its current registration and participant instructions. Confirm the start, finish, transport and supported time window from that named category. Do not carry across a former full marathon’s route or collection arrangements, even if both editions used the same Ouray-area event name.
If you need a full-marathon result, choose another organizer-confirmed 42.195 km event before setting the final training and travel calendar. Compare its surface, elevation, cutoff and entry availability. Running additional distance before or after this event would not turn a half-marathon entry into an official full-marathon finish.
The organizer’s site links to the education foundation and local Ouray and Ridgway visitor information. Those can help with the purpose and setting of the event, but accommodation links are not a substitute for the race’s transport plan. Once the 2027 guide appears, save the exact distance confirmation and share the correct arrival and finish details with companions. This page retains the older event reference to clarify the change in what is currently offered; it does not imply that the announced half marathon is cancelled or that a full-distance return is impossible. Use the named competition distance.

These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Wait for the organizer’s announcement before committing to a race-day schedule.
