Mississauga: the full marathon finishes at the lake, away from the start
The six-hour final limit is only part of the cutoff plan. Check your expected arrival at the 25 km gate with station stops included, and understand the diversion before starting. A projected finish inside the overall allowance does not override an intermediate road-closure deadline.
The different full and half finishes matter when travelling with another runner. Agree on which finish each person will reach and how you will reunite afterward. The organizer lists coaches back to Celebration Square for marathon participants. Confirm the boarding point and service hours in the final guide instead of assuming a companion’s city-centre finish arrangement applies to the full.
The course has a net descent, but that does not mean every section is downhill. Prepare for the actual profile and changes in rhythm through the city, campus and lakeside neighbourhoods. A controlled opening leaves room for the later kilometres and avoids turning the early descent into an unsustainable pace target.
The published aid plan includes water and Electrolit at nine locations, with gels at 29 km. That late gel station is a reason to plan your own familiar supplies across the whole race, not to postpone your established routine until it appears. Check the final products and locations before race week. Allow enough time at Celebration Square for baggage, toilets and the walk to your start position; the 07:15 truck deadline precedes the gun. Supporters should use the road-closure plan when choosing viewing points near the lake. Save both the starting address and the finish location, and review the current collection instructions before travelling. Recheck any schedule changes in the final participant communication.
