The Sunday marathon and its mid-course cutoff
The registration page’s broad heading contains an extra May 3 date, while the individual marathon card clearly states Sunday, May 2. Use the distance-specific event card for the race date. Check that the selected entry is the in-person marathon rather than a virtual option, half marathon or combined challenge before arranging travel.
The full-marathon card says runners must pass mile 13 before 10:50, while the challenge description calls the same gate mile 13.1. Treat 10:50 as a firm deadline and confirm the precise checkpoint in the final guide. The organizer says runners who miss it cannot continue and will be transported back. Do not infer a slower permitted pace from the separate event-card end time.
The 35.5-mile challenge combines Friday’s 5 km, Saturday’s 10 km and Sunday’s marathon. Its first listed start time belongs to Friday, not the marathon. If entering that combination, plan the earlier races as part of the total weekend workload and consider whether they suit your marathon goal. Additional medals do not remove the need to arrive at the full distance adequately recovered.
The marathon rules exclude pets and baby joggers. Make separate arrangements for accompanying family members and confirm the current spectator access, parking and packet-collection plan. A festival entry page establishes the race programme but does not provide every road closure or aid-station detail. Save the final full-marathon map and instructions, then match your arrival and nutrition plan to that material.
