  • The 26th edition starts June 12, 2027 at 09:00.

  • The companion half PLUS is 25 km, not a standard 21.1 km half marathon.

Race guide

From the Rhine valley to the mountains above Malbun

The official full-marathon page confirms June 12, 2027 at 09:00. The early Rhine-valley running gives way to a substantial mountain section after Vaduz. Do not use your opening road pace as a target for the climbs. Prepare for controlled uphill effort and stable descending within your current ability, including walking on steep sections when that is the sustainable choice.

The organizer’s route overview passes the vineyards and castle area above Vaduz, climbs through Triesenberg and Masescha to Silum, then descends toward Steg. Full-marathon runners continue through the Valorschtal and Sass Fürkle before Malbun. These landmarks help distinguish the full route from the 25 km half PLUS and the relay’s 25 km and 17 km legs.

Bib collection is listed at LGT Bank, Schaanerstrasse 19, Bendern: Friday, June 11, 17:00–19:00, and Saturday, June 12, 06:30–08:45. Collection and the mountain finish are in different towns. Plan how you will reach Bendern with your equipment and how you will leave Malbun after finishing; confirm the event transport arrangements before relying on a shuttle.

The rules include a mandatory checkpoint in Steg and describe an option for full-marathon entrants to finish in the half PLUS ranking. Read the current checkpoint deadline and procedure before counting on that option. Check the final mountain-weather and equipment instructions as well: a forecast for the valley alone does not describe conditions on the upper course.
