A downhill route with one-way start transport
The current organizer is Jazz Hands Running, linked from the original event website. The programme distinguishes the Leading Ladies women’s marathon, Dakota Spirit men’s marathon and shorter events. Choose the intended category in the next entry form rather than assuming that every race using the shared event name covers the full distance.
The older route includes an initial country-club out-and-back, a loop through Bogie Circle and a climb on Hanna Road before the long descent. Prepare for controlled descending and surface changes rather than treating a downhill profile as permission to sprint early. The final full-distance map matters because the organizer has shortened the former Roughlock Falls section.
The previous transport plan offered buses from Spearfish to the start but no return bus after finishing. If you drive to the start, arrange how to recover the vehicle; accommodation near the finish may solve a different part of the day. The site contains conflicting collection windows and start-time details, so obtain the next edition’s confirmed instructions instead of reusing the old schedule.
The older rules impose a six-hour limit and require runners to follow marshal directions at the mile-eighteen pace check. They also restrict road position after Cheyenne Crossing. Use those rules as evidence that this is a managed highway event, then confirm the new cutoff and traffic arrangements. Headphones, supporters and personal transport must not prevent you from hearing instructions or remaining within the permitted running area.

These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Wait for the organizer’s announcement before committing to a race-day schedule.
