Two Canal Loop circuits, with the final start location to recheck
The official registration page names the marathon separately within the March 13 programme. All listed distances begin at 06:30, and the general finish closes at 18:30. The 60 km and 50-mile events have additional last-loop deadlines that are not marathon cutoffs. Use the correct distance when reviewing the instructions.
The Canal Loop is mainly compact dirt single-track, with smaller rolling hills on the Lake Barkley side and larger climbs toward Kentucky Lake. Marathon runners make two circuits before returning to Grand Rivers. Practise controlled trail pacing and passing, and follow the race markings rather than taking a connector trail because it appears shorter on a map.
Packet collection is listed at Grand Rivers Community Center, 155 West Cumberland Street, on Friday 15:00–19:30 or Saturday 05:00–06:15. Arrive early enough for parking, walking and collection. The schedule describes the start by the community centre, while the route and directions sections describe Lighthouse Landing; use the final race instructions to resolve the exact starting point.
Dogs are not permitted to accompany participants during the race. Supporters and runners should also distinguish the marathon’s two loops from the four-loop ultra and its extra out-and-back. Download the correct course and check the final aid and equipment instructions, especially if relying on a bag or supplies left near the repeated loop junction.
