Two out-and-backs and an Olympic Oval finish
The course combines flatter sections, rolling terrain and hills around the village and surrounding roads. Prepare for changes in effort instead of treating the lake scenery as evidence of a flat course. Keep the opening miles controlled so the repeated out-and-back sections remain manageable later in the race.
The organizer specifically distinguishes the full marathon’s two turns farther out on River Road from the half marathon’s single turnaround. Study the current full map and follow your distance’s signs and crew directions. Do not follow a nearby half-marathon runner into the wrong turn simply because the early route has been shared.
Bring photo identification to Saturday collection at the oval and include that visit in the travel plan. The event does not offer deferrals or transfers in the current FAQ, so review the entry terms before committing. Legal parking is permitted where available, but a general parking statement does not guarantee a space beside the start at your arrival time.
The course page lists frequent aid access and a six-hour limit. Check the final station products and locations, practise your nutrition and include stops in the finish estimate. The main event description places the start on Main Street and the finish on the oval, so verify the exact staging instructions instead of assuming the collection area is also the start line. Agree on a meeting point outside the active finish.
