Lake Mead’s Boulder Beach start and 14:05 closure
The common packet-pickup window extends until 08:30, but that is already after the marathon start. Marathon runners need to collect in time for the 07:55 briefing and their 08:00 gun. Do not use the end of the shared collection window as your arrival deadline.
The 14:05 closure provides six hours and five minutes from the scheduled full start. Confirm any intermediate gates and the treatment of start delays in the final instructions. Include stops in your estimate, and do not mistake the approximate marathon awards time for the end of course support.
This January event is distinct from BBSC’s December Hoover Dam Marathon. Both use the Lake Mead area, but the January page describes the paved River Mountains route. Do not import the other race’s railroad tunnels, repeated-loop arrangement or Hoover Dam approach into this course without the current map.
Save the exact Boulder Beach race-access directions and check park-entry and parking requirements before departure. The broad recreation-area address is not enough to identify the correct starting area. Winter desert conditions can change during a morning, so use the actual forecast and practise with the clothing and supplies you intend to carry. Once the final aid map is available, plan around the distance and time between stations instead of assuming water is available throughout the public trail. Companions entering a shorter race should use their own start schedule and agree on a meeting point at the beach. Registration also lists a relay; ensure your confirmation is for the individual full marathon if that is your intended event. Recheck the organizer’s final briefing for any route or access changes.
