Kyrönjoki: four laps, two different full-marathon starts
The published loop follows Rantatie, crosses Paakkari bridge, continues along Reiniläntie and returns by Heikkola suspension bridge and Alapääntie. These landmarks help distinguish the actual route from a general map of the river. Download the next edition’s course before relying on an older file.
The route page lists 11 aid encounters over the full marathon. That means repeated visits on a lap course, not 11 different station locations. Work out when each visit occurs and check the current menu before deciding what to carry. Practice your own supplies instead of assuming a specific brand will be provided.
The finish is inside the youth association’s courtyard, in front of the timing vehicle. Passing the building on an intermediate lap is different from turning into the final finish approach. Count laps independently and follow the marked finish entrance when completing the distance.
Because traffic is not fully closed, keep attention on junctions, marshals and the organizer’s side-of-road instructions. A clear racing line is less important than following those instructions safely. Repeated laps can help you learn turns and exposed sections, but do not try to recover every second lost at a crossing. Set a sustainable effort and leave room to adapt to conditions. Choose the intended competitive or noncompetitive category before entering: an earlier timed start does not automatically carry the same awards or qualification status. Check the next invitation for collection hours, entry procedure, payment and category rules. The 2026 invitation and route establish useful historical detail; they do not confirm that the same times or arrangements will apply in 2027.
