Additional event notes
Sunday’s running marathon crosses the Jerez vineyards
JJP Sherry Maratón is the running event on Sunday, April 18, 2027, following Saturday’s cycling programme. The full route starts and finishes at Alameda Vieja in Jerez de la Frontera and is listed as 42 km with 552 m of ascent.
The festival combines running and cycling, and both programmes use the word marathon. The official announcement assigns Saturday, April 17 to MTB, e-bike and gravel events, and Sunday, April 18 to the running races. Check both the sport and date in an entry confirmation before building a training calendar.
The running course combines Jerez streets and squares with tracks through the surrounding vineyard landscape. Its advertised 552 m of climbing changes the effort compared with a flat road marathon. Include appropriate hill exposure and controlled descending within your normal progression, and choose footwear from the final surface description and conditions.
The full marathon and half marathon start at Alameda Vieja, but the shorter Promo starts at Finca Macharnudo and finishes in the city. That difference matters if friends enter different distances. Do not use the Promo transport plan or its 14 km distance to infer the full marathon’s route or arrival arrangements.
The event emphasizes local food and wine culture, but race fueling should still use familiar products and a routine you have practised. Check the final participant guide for start time, aid, cutoffs and any required carrying equipment. Keep sightseeing and other optional festival activities compatible with collection, sleep and a sensible race-morning routine.

These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Use the confirmed date above and recheck the final participant instructions before committing to a race-day schedule.
Build toward the confirmed race date
- establish repeatable weekly frequency before event-specific intensity;
- extend easy endurance only when the following week remains recoverable;
- practise fueling, equipment or stations in ordinary training rather than guessing race-day rules;
- keep strength and recovery compatible with the primary sessions; and
- anchor a specific block to the confirmed date only when its opening workload matches your recent training.
With the race date confirmed, use the training start-date calculator and compare the marathon training hub. Calendar arithmetic does not establish training readiness.
What the organizer still needs to confirm
Recheck the exact date, represented distances, registration, venue, start waves, course, cutoff, aid, cancellation terms and participant guide. Use the current race-week forecast for final clothing and pacing decisions.
Prepare for the confirmed edition
The useful work now is the training you can repeat. Start training with 26weeks after choosing a real finish line and a runway that fits current readiness.
