Two loops from Amahoro Stadium
The Kigali organizer's 2027 information describes the marathon as two 21.1 km loops, with the half marathon completing one. Both use Amahoro Stadium in the Remera area. The Run for Peace 10K is listed for June 12, while the marathon and half are on June 13. Those are separate event days when planning arrival and family participation.
The published marathon limit is six hours. Build a pacing plan that leaves room for aid stops and any slowing on the second loop, rather than making six-hour moving pace your whole allowance. A looped route is useful for rehearsing an even first and second half: record an expected first-loop range, then decide in advance when you would revise the goal instead of trying to rescue it with a sudden acceleration.
Bib collection matters here because the organizer states there is no Sunday pickup. Arrive early enough to complete collection before marathon morning, and check the final venue and opening hours before arranging an airport transfer. A confirmed hotel booking for Saturday night is not itself proof that you can reach the bib desk in time.
For supporters, a two-loop course offers a chance to see runners again without chasing them across the city. Select a permitted meeting location away from the course and make clear whether you mean the first or second pass. Runners should also identify the half-marathon finish separation in the final briefing; following a group into its finish can be costly when another loop remains.
