Hope and Possibility: identify the Achilles event and its separate collection venue
The organizer’s 2026 instructions put the expo and collection on September 17–18 on the first floor of Central Cultural Palace. A visitor therefore needed to plan for two locations: collection before race day and National Garden Park for participation. Do not reuse those dates or venues as a 2027 promise.
The event welcomes people with and without disabilities, including runners, walkers, families and groups. Before choosing a category, confirm its distance, start time, support arrangements and eligibility directly. An inclusive event-wide invitation does not mean every distance has identical requirements or that the whole programme duration is available to every participant.
The website’s archive also contains the separate city marathon held in May. Its course certification, results and category table should not be copied into this September guide. Use the exact Hope and Possibility name when checking entry information, especially where several events share the same registration platform.
Participants who need accessible transport, a guide or assistance at collection should obtain the current arrangements before travel. Ask where the accessible entrance, toilets, meeting point and support desk will be, and how companions or guides are registered. Confirm the correct course and distance rather than assuming a route from a general park map. Plan a familiar, manageable effort and use the organizer’s final instructions for equipment and aid. The annual third-Saturday pattern is historical background, not an exact announcement for the next year. Keep 2027 travel and training anchors flexible until the organizer publishes the named edition and your category. Retain your entry confirmation and review the collection requirements so that registration and race-day participation remain clearly connected.
2027 date status: not yet fixed
The organiser has not published a 2027 Hope & Possibility Ulaanbaatar Marathon date. The official event page records the completed edition for May 24, 2026 at Sükhbaatar Square. This page was checked on August 27, 2026 against Official event and registration page.
A previous edition does not prove that a 2027 edition or date is fixed. We therefore removed the expired date from this page's Event data and do not publish a guessed annual rollover.
Do not turn the old date into a prediction
Race weekends can move because of permits, venue availability, organizer decisions, weather risk or calendar conflicts. “About a year later” is not an official date. Until the organiser publishes one:
- do not book non-refundable travel around an inferred weekend;
- do not start a date-locked taper or peak block;
- do not rely on an old route, start time, cutoff or registration rule; and
- do not treat a third-party registration listing as stronger than the organiser.
What you can train now
Use the waiting period for durable, non-date-specific work:
- establish a repeatable weekly running frequency;
- extend easy volume gradually while preserving recovery;
- practise fueling on appropriate long runs without forcing race pace;
- build general strength and address movement-changing pain with qualified help; and
- keep one training log that makes fatigue, missed weeks and recovery visible.
Once an exact date is published, use the training start-date calculator and compare the marathon plan hub. Do not compress a plan merely to fit a newly announced event.
What to verify in the next organiser update
- 2027 date;
- registration;
- distance programme;
- start time;
- route and cutoffs;
Save the organizer page rather than an old screenshot. Registration opening is the moment to recheck entry eligibility, fees, cancellation terms and whether the marathon distance is actually part of the announced programme.
Prepare without pretending certainty
The running pace calculator can organize pace scenarios, and the marathon fueling planner can structure rehearsals. Neither tool supplies the missing race date or guarantees a result.
This page will move back to dated race date only after the organizer publishes an exact future date. Until then, the honest answer-first experience is “date pending,” with the evidence and next decision visible at the top. See how 26weeks builds an adaptive plan once a goal is real.
