A Kentucky start and West Virginia finish
This is a point-to-point race, and the two half marathons use different start or finish arrangements. Select the full-marathon transport instructions, not the River Road Half timetable. Save both your start and finish addresses so navigation software does not send you to the wrong side of the route.
The organizer lists early buses through downtown Williamson and a separate departure from Matewan. Choose the pickup that matches where you are staying and allow enough time to reach Food City before your own collection deadline. A bus operating later in the morning does not guarantee that you can collect a bib and reach the marathon start on time.
The course information places Blackberry Mountain in the early part of the route, with later running through Matewan and along the river corridor. Prepare for changes in effort and avoid chasing flat-road splits on the climb. The downloadable map section is incomplete in the current website, so obtain the final full-distance map and any access changes before race week.
The long weekend-information page contains inconsistent counts for water stops and a conflicting half-marathon start line. Use the clear full-marathon schedule and verify details that affect your own race. Recheck the final support locations, choose nutrition you have practised and arrange post-finish transport according to where your vehicle actually is, rather than assuming every shuttle returns to every start.

The organizer remains authoritative if the course, distance program, venue, registration or schedule changes. Historical conditions are not a forecast; use current organizer advisories and the race-week forecast.

These dates are calendar arithmetic, not proof that a plan length is appropriate.
