Letkov: follow the marathon route, not the autumn Krkavec programme
The organizer’s older news feed contains a conflicting May date, but the detailed event page and registration announcement agree on May 23 for the completed edition. Neither establishes a new annual date. Use a fresh named Letkov announcement before setting the next training calendar.
The marathon visits longer forest sections than the 21 km and 8.5 km routes. The historical “40” in an older listing name is not a current course measurement; check the final GPX length and organizer’s category description rather than treating it as a certified road-marathon distance.
The event warns that trail markings may not remain fully reliable. Load the correct course on a device you know how to use and practice navigation before racing. Road crossings remain open to traffic in the older instructions, so follow marshals and traffic rules instead of assuming a closed-road event.
Aid closures matter independently of the finish deadline. The old course visited four support locations, including a station encountered twice, and each had a stated closing time. Read the next complete chart and compare it with realistic progress over the actual terrain. Carry the required supplies and a working phone, and use the organizer’s current withdrawal procedure if stopping. Collection in the previous guide continued after the marathon had started because shorter races began later; marathon runners therefore needed to arrive earlier than the final general collection time. The timing chip and its strap had to be returned at the finish. Confirm all of these arrangements in the new guide, including parking around the reservoir and any equipment checks. Prepare for the hills and footing with familiar gear, and keep the 2026 timetable clearly historical until a new edition and route are announced.

These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Wait for the organizer’s announcement before committing to a race-day schedule.
