River paths and a Hayward Field finish
The early route heads through University neighbourhoods toward Frank Kinney Park, then returns north past Hayward Field. Seeing the stadium again around mile nine does not mean the race is nearly complete. Use that passage as a course landmark and keep the effort appropriate for the distance still ahead.
At Knickerbocker Footbridge, follow the full-marathon directions. Half-marathon runners turn onto their own route while the full continues through Springfield and west along the river system toward Owosso Footbridge. Shared early miles can make it easy to follow the wrong group; know the split before the race and pay attention to signs and marshals.
The final marathon miles follow the Willamette River, including Downtown Riverfront Park, before rejoining the half course near the finish. Expect your pace to reflect turns, bridges and shared-path traffic as well as fitness. Keep a controlled early effort so the final approach and track finish can be run within your remaining capacity.
The organizer lists course certification numbers and a minimum race-day age of 16. Check entry requirements directly if they affect eligibility. The April 23–25 festival span is broader than Sunday’s marathon: plan expo collection, gear check and start-corridor access from the current race-day information, not a Saturday event schedule. Include aid stops when comparing a realistic finish estimate with the seven-hour limit.
