Ermstal keeps its event name while the longest race is a half marathon
The organizer explicitly addresses the naming mismatch in its own race preview. Use the actual competition distance when selecting an entry or training target, even if a search result or calendar groups the event with full marathons. A confirmed July event date should not be published as a confirmed full-marathon date.
If the half marathon matches your goal, consult the new category page for its start, route and cutoff. The organizer’s older route discussion describes little shade between Bad Urach and Metzingen. Check the final map and race-week forecast, and plan familiar supplies around the actual support points rather than relying on a generic road-race assumption.
If your goal is specifically 42.195 km, choose another organizer-confirmed full marathon before setting a final taper. Compare the alternative’s terrain, time limit and entry availability. Two laps of a half-marathon route are not automatically an authorised full-marathon race, and completing an extra loop independently would not create an official result.
This page preserves the existing event reference while explaining the distance currently offered. Check for a new full-marathon announcement only through the organizer’s current programme and registration; an old event name or archived result is insufficient. Save the correct category confirmation and participant instructions before travelling, and make sure companions know the actual finish arrangement and distance you have entered. Check that your entry confirmation explicitly says half marathon or the other distance you selected; the event name printed above it does not change that distance.

These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Wait for the organizer’s announcement before committing to a race-day schedule.
