Fox River running and a finish near EPIC Event Center
The full-marathon route is different from the half, although both begin at the same event center. Study the full course’s bridge crossing and river-trail section before race day, then follow the correct signs at any split. Passing a familiar stadium is a landmark, not permission to leave the marked route for a closer visit.
The organizer lists eighteen marathon aid stations, with gels and bananas specifically identified at miles seven and twenty. Practise the supplies you intend to use and check the final station chart before relying on them. The course remains open to traffic, so attention to marshals, crossings and nearby vehicles remains necessary even on a route described as flat.
The FAQ offers paid race-morning will-call pickup, currently listed at $30. Select and confirm that option if your travel prevents earlier collection; do not assume ordinary entry includes it. There is no race-morning registration, so arriving at the venue is not a substitute for completing the entry process.
Gear check is listed from 05:30 near the EPIC Event Center, with collection at the same location using your bib. Save the final instructions for the exact entrance and closing time. Include aid and toilet stops when judging the seven-hour marathon limit, and keep a realistic opening effort even if the surrounding half-marathon group is moving faster.
