Ephesus Short Trail: 42 km on Saturday
The wider festival runs March 26–28, with several distances. The 42K, 61K and 120K start on Saturday, while the shorter Sunday races have different schedules and requirements. Select the 42K entry and map; the word Ultra in the festival name does not mean every participant follows the 120 km route.
The mandatory list includes a rain jacket, at least one litre of water-carrying capacity, a cup, running pack, first-aid kit, emergency blanket, head covering, long-sleeved top, whistle, bib and phone. Check the current full list before packing and rehearse with that load. A gear list specifies required capacity and equipment, not a fixed drinking schedule for every runner.
The programme lists Friday kit collection for the longer races and a short Saturday late-collection window before the 07:00 start. Prefer a plan that leaves room to resolve an entry or document issue. Confirm which medical report or licence is accepted and how it must be presented; the shorter races’ exemption does not apply automatically to the 42K.
The organizer marks the route but may revise it and warns that some sections can use roads open to traffic. Follow the current signs and marshals, and check the final GPX before departure. Prepare climbing and descending effort around the actual profile, with time for aid stops inside the seven-hour limit. Do not interpret a 42 km trail label as a standard certified road-marathon course.
