Loire-Layon: distinguish the historical relay from current individual races
Chalonnes-sur-Loire’s December 2015 municipal magazine records the tenth Ekiden edition and its teams. That establishes historical identity, not a future race date. Do not move a date from a current club event onto this older relay listing.
The club’s 2026 Kal Onna programme describes an approximately 42 km Maratrail with about 1,600 metres of climbing, starting and finishing at Stade Gaston Bernier. This is useful when identifying a different current race, but those hills, venue and timetable are not verified Ekiden course details.
For an Ekiden entry, obtain the named relay rules before assembling a team. Confirm the number and length of legs, team composition requirements, handover procedure and whether one athlete may run more than one leg. A total marathon distance does not tell each participant how far they will run, and individual marathon training advice should not be applied automatically to every team member.
If your goal is to run a full marathon alone, choose an event that explicitly offers that category. If your goal is a relay, agree on runners and transport only after the organizer confirms the event and exchange locations. Keep the club’s current trail and half-marathon programmes separate in your calendar. For any future relay announcement, check collection for the whole team, timing-chip transfer, access restrictions and the finish meeting point. Use the organizer’s exact event title when asking about entries, since a message referring only to “the Chalonnes marathon” could refer to a different format. This page keeps the historical event identifiable while leaving the next Ekiden date and participant arrangements unconfirmed.
Last-known race profile
These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Wait for the organizer’s announcement before committing to a race-day schedule.
