A mountain start with mandatory bus access
The published buses leave the stadium area between 03:45 and 04:15. Plan backwards from that transfer, allowing time to park, find the loading area and board. A 05:30 race start does not mean arriving at the stadium at 05:00 is workable. Check the final email for any change to the loading location or last departure.
The opening section heads toward Big Mountain before the long descent. Prepare for both the early work and controlled downhill running; a lower finish elevation does not guarantee an easy opening. Build descent exposure gradually in training and keep race effort restrained enough to handle the later urban miles.
The page still contains transfer and deferral rules referring to 2026 and a deferral into 2027. Those older rules should not be treated as the terms for changing a newly purchased 2027 entry. Read the current checkout policy or obtain organizer clarification before relying on a refund, name transfer or next-year deferral.
The listed course-support limit is six hours, after which runners are directed to sidewalks and finish cleanup begins. Include aid stops in your finish estimate and follow the current traffic instructions. The event coincides with holiday and parade activity, so leave room for slower post-race transport and agree on a meeting location that does not depend on crossing the active course.
