Cartago’s point-to-point route to Orosi needs two transport plans
The different start and finish locations are the most important logistical feature to resolve for a future entry. Check whether the next edition provides transport, where any shuttle leaves and how you will return after finishing. A car parked at Paseo Metrópoli would not automatically be available at the Orosi finish.
The detailed 2026 registration and the organizer’s general event card disagree about the early-morning start. Neither should be carried into a new edition without confirmation. Ask for the full-marathon timetable and distinguish assembly, transport departure and the actual race start before planning accommodation or breakfast.
The two distances share an event name but are separate individual categories. The 2026 description explicitly excluded relays, so do not assume a team can divide the full route. Check the named 42 km entry, current course map and any timing requirements if an official marathon result is important to your goal.
The older entry described assistance points and a timing chip but did not establish the next edition’s station spacing, collection window or finish cutoff. Those details matter more than a general promise of race support. When the new programme appears, review the route profile, supported duration and supplies together, then practise a suitable plan using familiar equipment. The organizer’s calendar contains other Cartago-area events and 2027 races elsewhere in Costa Rica; a date for one of those is not a Cartago Marathon announcement. Keep the next race date pending until the event title, year and full-distance category agree.
Last-known race profile
These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Wait for the organizer’s announcement before committing to a race-day schedule.
