Queen Elizabeth Park to the downtown finish, with an intermediate cutoff
The full-marathon schedule explicitly confirms May 2, rather than merely describing an annual first Sunday in May. Set the training calendar from that date and use the full-distance start. The half marathon and other events have their own instructions, so a companion’s schedule is not a substitute for your own.
The route passes Pacific Spirit Park and the University of British Columbia before reaching halfway at Spanish Banks West beach. Later it crosses Burrard Bridge and follows the Stanley Park seawall toward the downtown finish. Review the map for changes of surface, turns and exposed waterfront sections, and prepare for steady effort rather than expecting a uniform road rhythm.
The organizer gives six hours overall and four hours for the first 30 km, roughly eight minutes per kilometre through that checkpoint. Compare both limits with realistic elapsed time, including stops. An overall finishing prediction alone can hide a missed intermediate cutoff; do not compensate with an early pace your preparation cannot sustain.
Race kits must be collected at the expo on Friday or Saturday, with no race-day collection. The listed windows are Friday 11:00–19:00 and Saturday 10:00–17:00; recheck the final expo venue and times. Arrange transport to Queen Elizabeth Park separately from the journey after finishing downtown, and choose a supporter meeting point outside the restricted finish area.
