BiMa42 climbs and seven aid stations
The organizer also lists BiMa12, BiMa21, BiMa57 and the anniversary BiMa100 HTN. Their climbing, support and route files differ. Select BiMa42 when downloading the map and entering the event; the 100 km route through three German states is a separate challenge, not a description of the marathon.
With around 1,100 m of ascent, a flat-road target pace is a poor guide to every kilometre. Practise controlled climbing and descending on terrain comparable with the published track, and plan effort by section. Walking the steeper parts can be a deliberate strategy. Keep descents controlled rather than trying to recover every second lost uphill.
The 2027 course information labels its tracks August 21, 2026. The organizer’s previous edition required revised files because of forestry work, so download the latest BiMa42 version close to race week and follow any new routing instructions. A watch track is a backup to the current marked course, not permission to continue onto a closed forest path.
The homepage caps the whole event at 650 places across disciplines. A place shown for another distance does not establish BiMa42 availability. Check the current registration category, start time and cutoff before committing to travel. Seven aid stations also do not imply equal spacing: inspect their positions on the actual profile and rehearse the carrying system needed for its longest supported section.

Current race profile
The organizer remains authoritative if the course, distance program, venue, registration or schedule changes. Historical conditions are not a forecast; use current organizer advisories and the race-week forecast.
Training calendar anchors
These dates are calendar arithmetic, not proof that a plan length is appropriate.
