Saturday’s mountain marathon has about 3,000 m of climbing
The festival spans several days, including race-village opening on October 23, but the course page assigns the full marathon specifically to Saturday at 08:00. Use that distance-specific schedule rather than the weekend banner or Sunday’s shorter starts when planning arrival and a training countdown.
Approximately 3,000 m of climbing over 42 km makes this a substantial mountain challenge. Assess it through the GPX, elevation profile and current regulations rather than a flat-road marathon time. Practise terrain and equipment skills gradually within your existing preparation, and check the final required kit and aid spacing.
The regulations place all starts at Arguerd N’Ouzrou and finishes at Campus Vivant, while the race village opens at Campus Vivante in Ichougane. Confirm the exact transfer between registration, accommodation and the starting area. Similar names for the campus and villages should not be treated as one interchangeable address.
The organizer requires a medical certificate dated within one year of the race and says bibs will not be issued without an accepted document. Follow the current event requirements before travel. The mountain-valley journey also needs more planning than a city-airport transfer: confirm the organizer’s route and transport options, and leave adequate time for collection and briefing.
