Humpy’s downtown start and two trail turnarounds
The route first heads toward the coast, then returns through Westchester Lagoon before taking the Chester Creek Trail. Those repeated junctions make the full-distance map especially useful. Note which direction to take on each passage and follow current signs rather than a saved track from another Anchorage race.
The coastal turnaround is described as beyond the former Blue Bridge location, while the Chester Creek turnaround lies beyond the East High School bridge. Use the organizer’s final marked turns rather than deciding from a watch distance alone. Practise steady running and considerate passing on paths that may feel narrower than city streets.
The 15:00 Valley of the Moon Park gate matters independently of the 15:30 finish closure. Include support stops when assessing your likely arrival. If considering the walker start, confirm eligibility and how timing and aid work for that category; do not simply begin early without the organizer’s agreement.
Registration is announced to open December 1, 2026. The site also retains older age-group-ranking periods and promotional awards, so verify current eligibility rather than assuming a 2025 or 2026 programme applies in 2027. The marathon relay has its own team and exchange instructions. Individual runners should use the full-marathon collection, baggage and support information, and arrange a downtown meeting place that remains reachable while Sixth Avenue is closed.
