Sintra announces timed races, not a fixed-distance marathon
The event’s name describes a time-based challenge: participants accumulate distance during the chosen duration. That differs from entering a measured full marathon with a single fixed finish distance. Choose the actual timed category in the organizer’s registration process and confirm its start and finish window.
The official circuit page lists Sintra alongside other 24-hour events. The dates of those other races do not establish a Sintra start, and the festival’s two-day span does not mean every category lasts two days. Check the regulations for lap counting, partial laps and the final result recorded for your chosen format.
A timed endurance event needs a support and equipment plan suited to its duration. Before entering, establish the course surface, lighting requirements, access to personal supplies, rest rules and any crew restrictions. Do not borrow those details from a previous fixed-distance listing or assume an ordinary road-marathon aid schedule applies.
If your goal is an official full-marathon result, ask the organizer whether it offers a separately measured and timed marathon category. If your goal is the Sintra timed event, plan around that duration and your current capacity instead. The May 2027 festival announcement is useful and confirmed, but it should not be presented in a marathon calendar as proof of a 42.195 km race.

These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Wait for the organizer’s announcement before committing to a race-day schedule.
