Öland Bridge access and three laps through central Kalmar
The official date is August 21, 2027. The one-loop swim enters the Kalmar Strait, with transition at the Lustgården parking area next to the IRONMAN Village. Check the final swim-start and transition access maps before choosing a morning entrance, and use the actual water and equipment briefing for race-day decisions.
The bike preview travels to Öland and returns across the bridge. The organizer notes that this crossing is normally unavailable to bicycles, so a pre-race reconnaissance ride must not copy the race GPX across a prohibited road. Use permitted training routes or an appropriate indoor course preview instead.
Exposed bridge and island sections make bike handling and sustainable effort useful preparation priorities even when the overall profile is described as flat. Practise your equipment setup in conditions you can manage safely, and adjust race-day effort to the actual wind. Do not chase a fixed speed into a headwind at the expense of the marathon.
The run preview uses three laps along the beach, through the city centre and through Västerport before the cathedral-area finish. Recognise the final-lap split and choose a supporter meeting point beyond the finish controls. Recheck the 2027 course map and athlete guide for aid, cutoff and collection details rather than treating a previous route preview as final.

These dates are calendar arithmetic, not proof that a plan length is appropriate.
Use the training start-date calculator for another runway and compare the IRONMAN training hub. Do not compress missed weeks to force the calendar.
