Additional event notes
One riverside transition and a Masaryk Square finish
The latest IRONMAN 70.3 Hradec Králové preview starts with a swim in the Elbe, or Labe, uses rolling roads through Eastern Bohemia, and finishes through the city near the Elbe–Orlice confluence and Masaryk Square.
The current official race page still refers to the completed August 16, 2026 edition and does not confirm a next race day here. Its course details are useful for comparing the event with other 70.3 options, but a future entry or travel plan needs a new dated announcement.
The swim is described as a clockwise oval in the Elbe beside the city centre, with a rolling start. River conditions and the final buoy layout determine race-day decisions. Practise sighting and controlled starts in suitable supervised open water, and follow the organizer’s actual water and equipment instructions rather than assuming the river will always be calm.
The bike leaves the city boulevards for undulating countryside and winding roads. Prepare to change gears and effort smoothly while keeping enough capacity for the run. Broad promotional descriptions of a fast course should not override the rolling profile or your own sustainable riding ability.
The run starts from the same riverside transition area, moves through streets and parks, and finishes on Masaryk Square near the meeting of the Elbe and Orlice. Choose a supporter meeting point outside the finish process and confirm access on the final map. Shared transition does not mean that the finish, bag collection and morning entrance are all at the same spot.
2027 tentative month and exact-date status
The Sunday, August 16, 2026 edition has passed. Use August 2027 only as a tentative planning month, with a deliberately wide working window of Jul 19, 2027–Sep 13, 2027. This estimate spans four weeks either side of the previous edition’s anniversary. It is not an organizer announcement or confirmation that the event will recur.
Checked 2026-08-28 against the official organizer page. The organizer page loaded, but no future exact date was matched confidently to this named race and represented distance.
Last-known race profile
These details identify the race page; they do not establish the next edition's operations. The previous race date does not establish the next edition. Wait for the organizer’s announcement before committing to a race-day schedule.
What to train while the date is tentative
- establish repeatable weekly frequency before event-specific intensity;
- extend easy endurance only when the following week remains recoverable;
- practise fueling, equipment or stations in ordinary training rather than guessing race-day rules;
- keep strength and recovery compatible with the primary sessions; and
- anchor a specific block only after the organizer publishes the exact represented race date.
Once the exact date appears, use the training start-date calculator and compare the IRONMAN 70.3 training hub. The calculator cannot turn this estimate into a confirmed date.
What the organizer still needs to confirm
Recheck the exact date, represented distances, registration, venue, start waves, course, cutoff, aid, cancellation terms and participant guide. Race-week weather should come from the current forecast, not the tentative month.
Prepare without pretending certainty
The useful work now is the training you can repeat. Start training with 26weeks after choosing a real finish line and a runway that fits current readiness.
