The useful answer
The Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race is scheduled for November 8, 2026, within an official November 7–8 race weekend. The organizer lists 5 km, 10 km, 21 km and 42 km formats and community/expo activity from November 6–8.
The important uncertainty is equally clear: the 2026 route, start/finish point, race-kit pickup time and location, registration prices and several operating details are still marked to be announced on the official race-information page. Do not copy a previous Hanoi route into a 2026 pace or travel plan.
Confirmed versus pending
| Item | Status on July 20, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Marathon date | November 8, 2026 |
| Race weekend | November 7–8, 2026 |
| Expo/community activity | November 6–8 |
| Distances | 5K, 10K, 21K and 42K |
| 2026 course | To be updated |
| Start and finish | To be announced |
| Race-kit pickup time/location | To be announced |
| Registration pricing | To be announced |
That makes this a training-calendar owner now and a course-specific owner later, after the organizer publishes the missing facts.
16-week planning reset
July 19 is the nominal 16-week start for a November 8 marathon. Starting one day later does not require a dramatic catch-up session.
| Block | Priority |
|---|---|
| Weeks 16–13 | Stabilize easy frequency, one long run and simple strength that you already tolerate |
| Weeks 12–9 | Extend durability gradually and practise a repeatable fueling rhythm |
| Weeks 8–5 | Add selected marathon-effort work while keeping most running easy |
| Weeks 4–3 | Rehearse the published course, start time and travel plan if available |
| Weeks 2–1 | Taper, confirm operations and protect sleep and recovery |
If you do not have a consistent running base, choose a finish-first approach or a later goal. Do not combine a sudden mileage jump, speedwork and unfamiliar heat exposure in the same week.
Prepare now without guessing the course
- Build general road-marathon durability rather than training for an unpublished elevation profile.
- Rehearse fuel and fluids in conditions similar to those you can safely access.
- Use effort alongside pace when heat, humidity or air conditions differ from training.
- Wait for the official 2026 course before setting bridge, turn, landmark or aid-station splits.
- Review current public-health and race-organizer guidance close to the event; do not rely on a historic conditions average.
Publication watch list
- 2026 course map and measured profile.
- Start/finish point and start times by distance.
- Registration tiers and closing dates.
- Race-kit pickup time, location and required documents.
- Checkpoints, water, medical stations and toilets.
- Cutoffs, transfer/refund rules and race-day transport.
