This scoping review mapped 39 high-intensity functional training studies published from 2015 to 2025. Across varied protocols and populations, the literature reported changes in aerobic capacity, strength, anaerobic power, local muscular endurance and fatigue tolerance—qualities that can matter in hybrid competitions.

It supports a mixed training model, but it does not establish one optimal HYROX plan. Keep the useful translation simple: preserve progressive endurance work, dose strength and station practice without displacing key running, and judge the combined load by whether quality and recovery remain stable.
